Dinosaurs In The Bible Died by Asteroid?

Greetings truth seeker! I’ve been meaning to write about this topic for a while now. There is  a lot of information about it. In fact I am not all that familiar with some of the terminology used to describe what happened to the dinosaurs as we know them. However this article is my attempt to explain in simplified terms how the dinosaurs became extinct. Following my article about how Noah’s flood carved the Grand Canyon. As a sequel, the extinction of the dinosaurs also occurred during the Catastrophic event of Noah’s world wide flood. Contrary and popular belief, the dinosaurs went extinct from an asteroid impact. In this article I will be presenting two arguments. One from an Evolutionary perspective and the other from a Creationist standpoint.

Before we get started, keep in mind the Genesis account

Genesis 6: 11-13 “The earth was also corrupt before God, and the earth was filled with violence. 12: And God looked upon the earth, and, behold, it was corrupt; for all flesh had corrupted his way upon the earth. 13: And God said unto Noah, the end of all flesh has come before me; for the earth is filled with violence through them; and, behold, I will destroy them with the earth. “

Genesis 7:10-12

“And it came to pass after seven days, that the waters of the flood were upon the earth. 11: In the six hundredth year of Noah’s life, in the second month, the seventeenth day of the month, the same day were all the fountains of the great deep broken up, and the windows of heaven opened. 12: And the rain was upon the earth forty days.”

Biblical Interpretation:

From the scriptural perspective The Highest God hated how the animals became something completely different from what he originally designed. At least that’s how I interpreted “for all flesh had corrupted his way upon the earth”. I could imagine that this corruption was the animals somehow becoming gigantic mutated versions of themselves resulting in dinosaurs. We should all remember how the t-rex DNA closely resembles the modern day chicken. In my perspective it would only make sense that the corruption that existed was the existence of dinosaurs. That being said, they were an abomination unto the original creation. Therefore they had to die.

However, that makes me wonder, did dinosaurs and humans co-exist together? Apparently Noah was 600 years old with a whole family living during this terrible time. If that is true, then life back then would be a very scary reality. However, this was the reason for The Highest God destroying them, the dinosaurs were killing and eating everything. How did God do it though? How would he cause just forty nights of rain to turn into a massive flood to destroy these humongous creatures? Well I don’t think that Noah was intelligent enough to “scientifically” explain in great detail what he saw, what he did and what had actually happened in the scriptures. That is where modern archaeology, anthropology and taphonomy clears up the gaps.

Destroyed By Asteroid?

Modern earth scientists have found a substance called Iridium in the rocks, hills, boulders, and mountains around the world. This rare mineral is thought to have originated from an asteroid impact about “65-66 million years ago”. Luis Alvarez pioneered this theory in 1980. In order for this theory to be true, an asteroid the size of 10 kilometers in diameter would have hit earth at 80 miles/h. Many anthropologists at the time disagreed that an asteroid that size could have existed and cause that much damage. However, through an intense search, a massive quarter was found on the coast of Texas. Nowadays this site is called Chicxulub Crater

It is hypothesized that this one gigantic asteroid hit earth at 80 miles per hour, on the coast on what is now called Texas. The impact itself sent super hot shards or rock through the air and sent a glass like dust cloud though the earth. The impact of the asteroid and the dust cloud it produced suffocated the dinosaurs within a few months. After this catastrophic impact the dinosaurs were extinct except for small and simple animals who apparently hid in rocks and caves during the destruction.

Problems With This Asteroid Theory.

Although there is evidence of an asteroid impact many new earth scientists disagree that this single impact would have created all this damage to the earth. Also some earth structures and dinosaur bone studies have suggested that something else had killed off the dinosaurs. 1: There have been multiple dinosaur bones found in clusters around the earth called bone beds. It is highly unlikely an asteroid could cause them to die on top of each other in one central location. 2: There are fossils found hundreds of miles above sea level that were found with evidence of drowning. Which disagrees that an asteroid could cause dinosaurs to drown. 3: And lastly, iridium is not only found in extraterrestrial objects that hit earth. It is also found after a volcanic eruption.

Clustered Bone Beds.

The largest bone bed found in America is hundreds of miles above sea level. The Hanson Ranch is the Largest known dinosaur bone bed ever found. Many of the dinosaur bones are found complete and well preserved. If these animals died under heat and suffocating air, their genetic structure such as DNA and soft tissue wouldn’t have survived approximately 66 million years. Naturally bone beds are created when water pushes debris together and on top of each other. Highly unlikely to occur after an asteroid strike.

Signs of Drowning.

Professional Taphonomist Dr. Chadwick helps decode complex truths about how the dinosaurs most likely died during a catastrophic disaster. From examining the bones, many were found with their heads pulled or yanked backwards, which tells us that they died from drowning. Which makes taphonomist question how these super large dinosaurs drowned in the middle of Wyoming. Furthermore these large animals were buried quickly under sediments. Which would mean that a flood would have killed them. There are flying dinosaurs found with signs of drowning as well. This find is even more disturbing. That would mean that water was high enough to drown a bird?

Iridium After Volcanic Eruption

Through modern chemical and mineral analysis the substance iridium is not only found from asteroids but also from volcanic eruptions. Therefore the classic assumption that the one asteroid from Chicxulub Crater was the only cause for a world wide layer of iridium is far-fetched. Creationist believe that the one mega asteroid more likely initiated a series of mega disasters. Many geologist believe that the tectonic plates must have been triggered by this one asteroid. Sequentially the world’s mega volcanoes would erupt from the sudden tectonic plate movement releasing massive amounts of iridium into the air. Later massive tsunamis would destroy the earth.

Now we have a better image of what Noah might have witnessed on that day. First, the “fountains of the great deep broken up, and the windows of heaven opened. 12: And the rain was upon the earth forty days” Genesis 7:11: an asteroid slammed into the earth. Second, tectonic plates started shifting suddenly causing earthquakes. Thirdly, volcanic eruptions are triggered across the “ring of fire” releasing lethal doses of iridium into the air. And the fourth and final knockout, mega tsunamis, drowned Any remaining creatures on the earth.

Now that I think about this, Noah’s account of this mysterious rain for forty days. This could have been a meteor-shower or constant smaller asteroid impacts after the first one. Forty days of rain can’t cause tsunamis. However, did dinosaurs and humans coexist together?

Evolutionists believe the grand Alvarez Theory without question. That is why, modern dinosaur museums showcase the classic asteroid strike on earth. However creationist agree that an asteroid did hit earth, but it was only one of the many mega catastrophic disasters that wiped out the dinosaurs. And ironically the evidence closely resembles the Biblical account of Noahs Flood.
